If a burger is your go-to snack, and you wish to eat vegan, then you are going to need a tofu burger recipe. Tofu makes it simple. All you need to do is crumble a block of firm tofu, add a few herbs, spices, and a seasoning, and then put everything in a food processor. Run the food processor for a minute or so and your burger patty mix will be ready.
Just know that a tofu burger is not something like the “Impossible” burger. If you want to go down that road, you will need stuff like vital wheat gluten, beetroot, etc. There are recipes to make vegan burgers without tofu. Please do an online search if you are interested.
Now back to our tofu burger. These are the ingredients:
- A block of firm tofu (300 gm)
- 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
- 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- 0.50 teaspoon salt
- 0.50 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon curry powder
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon corn starch
- 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
Let’s Cook
Squeeze out water from the tofu. Put everything in a blender. Run it until you get a smooth mix. Transfer the mix to a bowl. Mix well, and shape into burger patties.
Shallow fry the patties in oil for 5 minutes on either side. Your tofu burgers are ready.
